Chris Martin's Reggae Concert in Kenya ¶
Chris Martin, a top Jamaican reggae musician, has arrived in Kenya for a highly anticipated concert. The event, which is part of a cultural exchange between Kenya and Jamaica, will feature performances by local and international artists.
Chris Martin is in the country for the second time, and he has been joined by D Major and Future Fambo. The concert is a product of President Uhuru's visit to Jamaica this year, where the two countries entered a memorandum of understanding to encourage and facilitate participation in the cultural and creative exchange between them.
The concert was initially scheduled to take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on December 7, but it has been moved to the Impala Grounds due to state functions to be held at the KICC. The event organizers have assured fans that they will do everything they can to ensure the event is a success, despite concerns about the rainy season and cold weather.
Chris Martin, D Major, and Future Fambo will be joined by local talent, including Bensoul, Elani, Masauti, KRG the Don, Havoc, and Jfam. Tickets for the concert are available online at mtickets.com, with regular tickets costing Ksh. 1,500 and advance VIP tickets costing Ksh. 5,000.
Chris Martin's visit to Kenya is courtesy of a new reggae radio station called Vybez Radio, which is in partnership with Ngoma Tucheze, Coca Cola Africa, Parrotgroup254, Homeland Events, KICC Kenya, Afrotape, RFH Healthcare, The Good Company KE, Nairobi County, and Kingyard Music. The radio station will be airing in Nairobi 104.5 FM, Mombasa 98.7 FM, Nyeri 98.8 FM, and Meru 107.1 FM.
