On December 5, 2019, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) made a significant move in the world of Kenyan football by signing a Sh127 million deal with leading betting firm Odibets.

The three-year partnership aims to grow local football talent at the grass root level, with Odibets providing essential resources to support the development of the sport.

As part of the deal, all FKF county leagues will be renamed Odibets County leagues, starting from this season. The betting firm will also provide participating clubs with six balls and playing kits.

Odibets General Manager Dedan Mungai expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it aligns with the company's vision of nurturing untapped talent from the grassroots level to national and international stardom.

"We strongly believe that our partnership with FKF will further strengthen the grass root leagues and offer thousands of Kenyan youth an opportunity to showcase their talent and create a career out of playing football," Mungai said.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa welcomed the partnership, emphasizing the federation's commitment to nurturing local talent in the country.
