Bomet County Gubernatorial Seat: A Competitive Race in 2022

As the 2022 elections approach, the gubernatorial seat in Bomet county is shaping up to be a highly competitive race, with several prominent politicians expressing interest in the position.

Among those who have shown interest in the seat are Bomet senator Christopher Langat, county women representative Joyce Korir, Bomet Central MP Ronald Tonui, former Konoin MP Julius Kones, and former governor Isaac Ruto, who will be battling it out with the current governor, Hillary Barchok.

Former MP Paul Bii is also in the running, with the backing of Deputy President William Ruto. Other potential candidates, including Mining and Petroleum chief administrative secretary John Mosonik, are yet to declare their intentions.

As the race heats up, residents of Bomet county will have the opportunity to choose from a diverse pool of candidates, each with their own unique qualifications and experiences.

Former governor Isaac Ruto, a key player in the county's politics, is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming elections. His political party, Chama Cha Mashinani, will likely be a major factor in determining his destiny.

However, with the field already crowded with several candidates, it remains to be seen which ones will ultimately make an impact in the elections.

One candidate who is expected to shake things up is John Mosonik, a former principal secretary for Infrastructure, who has served in both the Moi and Kenyatta regimes. His experience and development record make him a strong contender for the seat.

The politics of regional balancing will also play a significant role in the elections, with several candidates hailing from different regions of the county.

Ultimately, the people of Bomet county will have the final say in determining who will lead their county in the years to come.
