Parenting is a challenging journey, and it's common to feel like you're expected to do it all. However, this can lead to burnout and negatively impact your relationships with your children.

As a parent, you're often expected to be a friend, a teacher, and a role model to your kids. But the truth is, you don't have to be best friends with your children to be a good parent. In fact, setting clear boundaries is essential for maintaining a healthy relationship with your kids.

It's okay to take a step back and give your kids some space. This doesn't mean you're not invested in their lives; it means you're recognizing that they need to learn and grow on their own. By giving them independence, you're actually helping them develop responsibility and self-reliance.

Additionally, it's essential to prioritize your mental health as a parent. It's okay to take a break and give yourself some time to recharge. In fact, taking care of your mental health is crucial for being a good parent. By acknowledging your needs and taking care of yourself, you'll be better equipped to support your children and be the parent they need.

Lastly, it's essential to remember that you don't have to attend every function or event. Your priorities have changed since having kids, and it's okay to say no to things that don't align with your values or needs. By setting boundaries and prioritizing your mental health, you'll be a better, more present parent to your children.
