December 3, 2019, marked a day when a matatu driver's reckless behavior was caught on camera by a fellow motorist heading in the opposite direction on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

The driver, who was behind the wheel of a matatu belonging to Naekana Sacco, was seen speeding and overtaking another vehicle at the SGR Bridge near Emali, despite incoming traffic from the other lane.

NTSA later announced that the driver had been found and appeared before the authority, where his Class A Endorsement and driving license were suspended.

He will be required to undergo a driver retest to confirm his competencies, and the sacco has also suspended him for three months.

NTSA urged the public to report such rogue motorists, and thanked them for speaking out on the matter.

As the festive season approaches, Kenyans are showing concerns over road safety, and the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving practices.
