On December 5, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred in India, prompting the halt of male birth control testing. The testing, which involved 139 men under the age of 41, had been ongoing for several months.
The men, who were living with their wives and had at least two children each, were given a single dose of the male birth control shot and monitored by doctors for six months. Their wives were also tracked to see if they became pregnant.
However, eight months into the testing, 30 of the participants were rushed to the emergency room with severely injured testicles. The men claimed that their testicles 'popped like balloons' and released semen, causing significant trauma.
According to the affected individuals, the pain was less severe than expected, but the emotional trauma of experiencing such a catastrophic event was overwhelming. One participant, Jogen Shahn, described his experience:
“When I was nearing orgasm, I felt that my testicles were getting inflated, but I did not feel the pain. My strokes were getting harder because of approaching orgasm, and the next thing I heard was pop! It happened so fast.”
The cause of the testicle explosions remains unknown, despite daily medical check-ups on the participants. The doctors have promised to conduct further research and testing to determine the cause of this unusual phenomenon.
