Kenya's Under-16 football team suffered a disappointing semi-final loss to Tanzania in the Copa Coca Cola Africa Cup at the M-Pesa Foundation Academy in Thika on December 4, 2019.

The loss marked the end of Kenya's hopes of retaining the continental title, which was won by St Anthony's Kitale last year.

The two teams battled to a 0-0 draw in regular time before Tanzania emerged victorious in a 5-4 penalty shootout.

Kenya's captain, Hamisi Hamisi, expressed disappointment at the loss, saying that the team had given their all but luck was not on their side.

'We gave our all, played our hearts out but I guess the gods favoured our opponents,' Hamisi said.

Despite the loss, Hamisi remained optimistic, stating that the team would look to overcome Zambia and secure a top-three finish in the tournament.

Kenya will now face Zambia in the third-place playoff, seeking to complete the podium.
