According to reports, Uhuru dam in Ruiru burst its banks early Thursday morning following heavy rainfall, causing widespread damage to people's properties.

However, the management of the Aga Khan Hospital later issued a statement that the situation had been handled.
Nairobi residents from Embakasi to Thika Road and Westlands have also posted pictures on social media of flooded roads and open manholes.
Residents are in dire need of assistance as floodwaters have broken walls and homes are being flooded in areas such as Likoni Lane in Kilimani estate.
