On December 5, 2019, a disturbing video surfaced on social media, showing an elderly woman going on a mission to 'cleanse' Nairobi's CBD of what she perceives as devilish fashion trends.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman, who is often seen on Mama Ngina Street, targets women wearing miniskirts, claiming they are devices from the devil.
Her methods, however, have sparked outrage, with many Kenyans calling for her arrest for harassment. In a video shared on Twitter, the woman is seen screaming as she tries to snatch the skirt from an unsuspecting passer-by along Moi Avenue.
Her sermons, which are often laden with insults directed at women for wearing miniskirts, trousers, and jeans, have left many questioning her motives and sanity.
Reactions from Kenyans on Twitter have been mixed, with some calling for her to be arrested, while others have expressed concern about the state of the country.

“Huyu matha ameamua watu wa kuvaa skirts hawatakaa na Amani,” tweeted @TheTvPlug. “I think what this woman is doing is a crime,” said @WENDYRICCH. “This country must be fixed,” wrote @eutychus_kimani. “She should be arrested for harassment. Usually, meet her on Mama Ngina Street, and she’s always yelling at women, calling them prostitutes for wearing trousers, jeans, and skirts and undressing them,” commented @fsamba.
