Published on December 5, 2019, a bizarre incident unfolded in Hirumbi Village, Lurambi, Kakamega County, where a 36-year-old man, Mukoshi Chipukosia, was nearly lynched for stealing women's panties.

According to Eric Anyanjira, the Nyumba Kumi chairperson, Mukoshi's unusual behavior raised suspicions. He would often undress and wear women's panties while bathing in the river.

On Sunday, Mukoshi was caught in the act, attempting to steal panties from a neighbor's bathroom. The operation was thwarted when dogs alerted the owner.

'When I went to check, I found he had already pocketed my panties,' said the aggrieved victim.

Residents expressed frustration over Mukoshi's habit, with one woman lamenting, 'We are fed up with his habit! What he is doing is not good, at all.'

After receiving a beating, Mukoshi was forced to discard the stolen innerwear and vow never to steal women's panties again.

In his defense, Mukoshi blamed poverty for his actions, stating, 'I do not have money to buy new men's underwear. So, stealing was the only option I was left with.'
