On Thursday morning, heavy rainfall caused the Uhuru dam in Ruiru to burst its banks, flooding homes in the nearby Varsityville estate in Kamakis.
According to reports, the flooding has left many residents affected, with some homes submerged in water.
Recent heavy rains have caused widespread flooding across the country, displacing tens of thousands of people and claiming over 100 lives.
Elsewhere, in Baringo South, more than 70 families have been rendered homeless after their houses were submerged in water following a heavy downpour in the area.
Additionally, the River Sabaki in Kilifi County recently broke its banks, displacing about 1,000 people in Malindi and Magarini constituencies.
Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna has confirmed that approximately 30,000 people have been affected by the heavy rains.
The meteorological department has issued flood alerts, warning Kenyans to be on the lookout for landslides and overflowing river banks.
