December 5, 2019 - FC Talanta has appointed former Ushuru FC Coach Ken Kenyatta as their new Head Coach, in a bid to improve the team's performance in the National Super League.
Kenyatta, who parted ways with Ushuru FC in July this year, is known for his record-breaking performance in 2013 that led to the promotion of Ushuru to the Kenya Premier League.
Speaking to the players and the club management, Kenyatta expressed his readiness to take on the challenge, promising to work hard to help the club improve its ranking.
“I have a wealth of experience since my days as a player to my coaching days and I promise to work hard to help the club improve in ranking,” he said.
He called on the players to work hard and give their all in order to help improve the performance of the club, which is currently ranked 14th on the log with 18 points, 25 points off the league leaders.
On the upcoming transfer window, Kenyatta said he was not keen to bring in new players, instead opting to use the available talent to move the team forward.
FC Talanta is winless in their last 10 matches, with their last win being in September against Police FC, which is two points above them.
The Communications Authority-sponsored club next hosts Shabana FC, which is 4 points above them, on December 15, 2019, in what will be Coach Kenyatta's first match in charge.
