A fire broke out at Daystar University's Nairobi Campus on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, causing a car belonging to a student to burn down.
According to the institution's Chief Security Officer, Major (Rtd) Steve Leakono, the fire occurred after a transformer exploded at the parking area at 4:20 pm.
"The incident was successfully responded to by our students and staff, unfortunately, one vehicle belonging to our student was burnt," said the Chief Security Officer in a statement.
Kenya Power technicians were deployed to the scene to contain the situation and establish the cause of the explosion.
