Manchester United's underwhelming start to the season has sparked a warning from boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to his entire squad: no one is undroppable.
With the team struggling to find consistency, Solskjaer has made it clear that players are playing for their place in the long-term, and that injuries have created opportunities for others to shine.
“Players are never undroppable,” Solskjaer said. “Players are also playing for their place in the long-term.
As the team prepares to face Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur, Solskjaer emphasized the importance of players earning their place in the team, citing his own experience of being part of a squad where no one was guaranteed a spot.
“That's where we're going to get to at this club as well,” he added.
Manchester United's current form has left them with just 18 points from 14 games, and they need to win all three remaining matches to better the 26 points Mourinho's team had accumulated at the same stage last season.
