William Kamket Warns Ruto and Allies to Prepare for Political Storm over BBI Report ¶
Published on December 4, 2019
Mbunge wa Tiaty, William Kamket, has warned Naibu Rais William Ruto and his allies to prepare for a political storm over the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Kamket, who is a close friend of Senator Gideon Moi, has accused some leaders of using the BBI report to advance their personal interests.
He has also criticized some leaders for opposing the report's recommendation to have the President and the Deputy President elected on a joint ticket.
"Katiba si kitu cha kufanyiwa mzaha katika Bunge la Kitaifa. Ni lazima iamuliwe na Wakenya. Ni wao watakaoamua yale wanayotaka kupitia kura ya maamuzi na si kupitia Bunge, kwani wabunge wanaongozwa na maslahi yao binafsi," Kamket said.
He has also accused Ruto of using some leaders from the Central and Rift Valley regions to advance his own interests.
"Tunashangazwa na hatua ya Dkt Ruto kuendeleza mikutano ya kisiasa kwa kuwatumia wabunge hao," Kamket said.
He has also warned Ruto and his allies that they will face the consequences of their actions if they continue to oppose the BBI report.
"Ningetaka kumweleza kuwa idadi kubwa ya wanasiasa hao hawatachaguliwa tena ifikapo 2022, Ikiwa unategemea hao, basi unapaswa kujitayarisha kwa wakati mgumu kisiasa," Kamket said.
He has also accused Senator Kipchumba Murkomen of being out of touch with the reality of the BBI report.
"Je, unayo taarifa ya kusisimua ambayo ungependa tuichapishe? Tafadhali, wasiliana nasi kupitia [email protected] au WhatsaApp: 0732482690," Kamket said.
