Rwanda has joined forces with French football powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain to boost its tourism industry.
According to Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the three-year partnership will showcase Rwanda's unique attractions, including its breathtaking natural beauty, creative culture, and innovative environment.
The 'Visit Rwanda' branding will be displayed at PSG's home stadium, Parc des Princes, as well as on the sleeve of the PSG women's team and on the back of training kits.
As part of the deal, PSG first-team players and former players will travel to Rwanda to experience the country's hospitality, and their experiences will be shared through PSG's digital platforms.
PSG will also organize training programs for Rwandan coaches and young footballers.
The partnership is Rwanda's second tourism sponsorship deal with an international football club, following a similar deal with English Premier League team Arsenal in June last year.
Rwanda received 1.7 million visitors in 2018, who spent $380 million in the country, and the government aims to attract $407 million in tourism revenue in 2019.
However, tourism in Rwanda has been threatened by incursions from rebel groups in neighboring countries, and the government is working with regional partners to enhance cross-border security.
