On December 4, 2019, Kenya's boxing stakeholders made a passionate appeal to the government to expedite the completion of renovation works at existing sports stadia.

The stakeholders emphasized that the development of sports infrastructure is crucial in raising the standards of the game in the country.

According to coach Roy Kwavi, well-equipped facilities are essential for the growth of indoor disciplines and the restoration of the sport's lost glory.

Notably, the Boxing Federation of Kenya's Nairobi branch Chair, Kennedy Otieno, has initiated a program at the AVI fitness gym in Lavington, where county boxers can train free of charge.

Despite the efforts of stakeholders like Otieno, the poor state of boxing facilities in Kenya remains a pressing concern, with many calling for relevant authorities to address the issue.
