On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, a brazen thief struck at Shauri Moyo Police Station in Nairobi's Eastlands, making off with a Toyota Land Cruiser from the station's parking yard.

The vehicle, registration number GKA 024V, had been parked at the yard since October 4, 2019, due to mechanical problems. Corporal Cyrus Nyandago reported the theft to the station.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on Tuesday, December 3, at 12:32 hours. Corporal Nyandago discovered the vehicle missing at around 11:00 hours.

The Land Cruiser, belonging to the transport pool at Jogoo House, had been grounded at the station since October 4, 2019. Corporal Nyandago returned to the station two months later, only to find it still there, but it mysteriously disappeared the following day.

Incidents of vehicles disappearing from police stations are not uncommon in Kenya. In February 2019, detectives arrested a man attempting to steal from a vehicle parked outside the DCI Headquarters along Kiambu Road.
