On December 4, 2019, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) announced plans to repair the potholes on Wilson Airport runway, a project set to cost the authority KSh 350 million.
The move aims to reduce plane mishaps such as sliding that occur during take-off.
Major works on the project will start once local firms with planes exceeding seven tonnes operating at Wilson airport relocate to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) Nairobi.
Domestic flights constitute 90% of the total flights from the Airport, with international flights accounting for 10%.
