DP Ruto Accused of Interfering with Government Officials

Deputy President William Ruto has been accused of interfering with government officials instead of resolving their issues.

Simba Arati, a member of parliament from Dagoreti North, made the allegations on December 3, 2019, in his constituency.

Arati claimed that Ruto was targeting specific government officials, including Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i and his Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.

"I want to tell Deputy President William Samoei Ruto that you should confront President Uhuru Kenyatta directly. Stop criticizing his officials," Arati said.

Arati further stated that Ruto's actions were a sign of weakness and that he should instead focus on resolving the issues affecting the country.

On the other hand, Ruto had previously criticized government officials, saying they were arrogant and should be ashamed of themselves.

"You are working for a government that was elected by the people. Do not think you are superior to the people who elected you," Ruto said in a speech on December 1, 2019, in Limuru.

The exchange between Arati and Ruto has sparked a heated debate in the country, with many calling for Ruto to focus on resolving the issues affecting the country rather than criticizing government officials.
