Published on December 4, 2019, a global social media meltdown was triggered by the adorable green creature, Baby Yoda, from Disney's live-action Star Wars series "The Mandalorian".

The character, unveiled three weeks ago, has stolen both the show and millions of hearts with its cute, wide-eyed appearance and mischievous gestures.

One parody account, @BabyYodaBaby on Twitter, has amassed over 120,000 followers with paraphrased Yoda quotes, including "Fear leads to hate. Hate leads to anger. Cuteness leads to snuggling."

Countless screengrabs, short video clips, and memes of Baby Yoda have gone viral, showcasing the character's nonchalant behavior, such as sipping from a cup and fiddling with spaceship control switches.

According to NewsWhip data cited by Axios, news stories mentioning Baby Yoda had 2.28 million interactions on Facebook and Twitter in the first two weeks of the show alone.

Hollywood celebrities, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jennifer Lopez, have joined in on the action, posting images and praising the character to reporters on Los Angeles's red carpets.

Despite creator Jon Favreau's insistence on keeping the character secret before its reveal, Disney merchandise, including toys and apparel, is now available for pre-order on the company's online store.
