On December 4, 2019, Bidco Africa announced a significant partnership with Land O'Lakes, a US-based agricultural cooperative, to upgrade its animal feed factory in Nakuru.

The KSh1.2 billion investment will see the factory's production capacity increase to 28 tonnes of feed per hour, giving Bidco a competitive edge over rivals like Unga Group.

Land O'Lakes will bring its fully automated plant to the facility, ensuring efficiency in production and reducing human error.

The partnership will also introduce new animal feed products, including Pro Calf Starter, Pro Heifer Developer, Pig Starter 4-4-4, and Pro Calf Milk Replacer, to the Kenyan market.

According to Chris Diaz, a director of Bidco, the company is working with 30,000 farmers who supply it with maize, sunflower, and soya seeds for processing oil products.

These seeds will be used to create new animal feed products that will be fortified to suit different livestock nutritional needs.

Bidco Africa is a multinational consumer goods company with its headquarters in Thika, Kenya, and subsidiaries in 17 countries across East, Central, and Southern Africa.
