Published on December 4, 2019
Manchester City bounced back from a 2-2 draw with Newcastle to secure a 4-1 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on December 3, 2019.
The win saw City reclaim their second-place spot in the Premier League table with 32 points, just one point behind Leicester City, who have a game in hand.
The match got off to a flying start for City, with Gabriel Jesus scoring the opening goal in the 24th minute. Jesus' goal gave City a 1-0 lead, and they continued to dominate the match.
In the second half, City extended their lead, with Jesus scoring his second goal of the match in the 50th minute. Rodri scored the third goal for City in the 18th minute, while Riyad Mahrez scored the fourth goal in the 57th minute.
Burnley's Robert Brady scored a consolation goal for the home team in the 65th minute, but it was too little, too late for the Clarets.
City's win was a much-needed boost for the team, who had been struggling in recent weeks. The win sees City move up to second place in the Premier League table, and they will look to build on this momentum in their next match.
