As of December 3, 2019, the death toll from flooding in Kenya has reached 132, according to Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna.
Speaking during a media briefing, Oguna revealed that a number of people are still missing, and the government is working with relevant agencies to locate them.
Approximately 330,000 people have been affected by the rains, with 17,000 displaced, and an undetermined number of people marooned or cut off by floods.
Over 11,000 livestock have been swept away, and food aid has been distributed to 32 affected counties.
Oguna urged Kenyans living in high-risk areas to move to safer ground, and advised individuals to avoid crossing flooded waters and sheltering under trees to minimize risks to lightning strikes.
The current rains are expected to continue until the end of December.
