Boni Khalwale Slams Tanzanian Envoy for Insulting Kenyans

Former Senator Boni Khalwale has criticized Tanzanian Foreign Minister Palamagamba Kabudi for insulting Kenyans during the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report at Bomas of Kenya.

According to Khalwale, Kabudi's remarks were not acceptable, given that Kenya is more developed than Tanzania.

"Kabudi hakuwa na vigezo vya kuwapa wakenya msomo kwani Kenya iko mbele kimaendeleo kuliko Tanzania," Khalwale said.

During the launch, Kabudi was given a chance to address the gathering, but Khalwale claimed that he was not properly invited and that his presence was an insult to Kenyans.

"Aliyemualika na kumpa nafasi jamaa kutoka Tanzania kutusomea alituhujumu," Khalwale said.

Kabudi had traveled from Tanzania to deliver a message of support from President Pombe Magufuli to President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House in Nairobi.

After that, he met with Uhuru at Bomas of Kenya, where the BBI report was being launched, and was given a chance to address the gathering.

However, Khalwale claimed that Kabudi did not follow the proper procedure as outlined in the Constitution before addressing the gathering.

"Katiba ya Kenya inatoa mwelekeo unaopaswa kufuatwa kabla ya kumruhusu mgeni kutoka nje kuzungumza. Inadokeza kwamba kabla ya mgeni wa aina hiyo kuhutubu anapaswa kupigwa msasa na bunge au seneti," Khalwale said.

He also criticized Kabudi for not following the proper procedure, saying that he should have been invited and cleared by the relevant authorities before addressing the gathering.

"Hakufuata utaratibu wa Katiba kabla ya kuhutubu," Khalwale said.

He also accused Kabudi of insulting Kenyans by implying that they were not capable of governing themselves.

"Aliyemualika na kumpa nafasi jamaa kutoka Tanzania kutusomea alituhujumu," Khalwale said.

He also criticized Kabudi for not following the proper procedure, saying that he should have been invited and cleared by the relevant authorities before addressing the gathering.

"Hakufuata utaratibu wa Katiba kabla ya kuhutubu," Khalwale said.

Other leaders, including Senator Ledama Ole Kina, also criticized Kabudi for his remarks.

"Nilisikitika sana kuketi kitako nikisemwa na waziri kutoka Tanzania, nchi ambayo watu hata hawana uhuru," Ledama said.
