On December 1, 2019, the Kenya Police Airwing carried out a daring rescue mission at 14 Falls in Thika, saving a man who had been stranded for four days.
The man, identified as Vincent Musila, a fisherman, had been stuck on a small island in the river, with the water level rising rapidly due to heavy downpour.
Thika Town Member of Parliament Patrick Wainaina had reached out to the police for help, and the Airwing department responded promptly, airlifting Musila to safety.
Locals had attempted to rescue Musila earlier but were unsuccessful, leading them to seek alternative help.
On social media, Kenyans praised the Kenya Police Airwing for their bravery and quick response, with many congratulating them on a job well done.
