Published on December 3, 2019, Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket has continued to campaign for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report to be subject to a national referendum.

According to Kamket, leaders pushing for a parliamentary initiative to adopt the report are doing so out of selfish interests, aiming to water down the recommendations made by the task force that drafted it.

As the debate over the BBI report's implementation continues, Kamket's stance has sparked a heated discussion among politicians and stakeholders.

On the other hand, Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary-General Wilson Sossion has expressed his support for the BBI report, citing its potential to address the issue of delocalization of teachers.

Meanwhile, Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has cautioned medics against supporting proposals that could put their careers in jeopardy.
