On December 3, 2019, the East Africa Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) announced the winners of its Industry Awards, celebrating the region's top private equity firms and venture capitalists.
The EAVCA Industry Awards recognize and celebrate venture capitalists who play a crucial role in shaping and growing the local industry. The awards are given in nine categories, with members voting for the 'best in the category' via an online platform.
This year's winners include:
- Sheel Gill, winner of the East Africa Leadership Award
- Martha Osier, recipient of the Woman Investor Award
- ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna (A&K), winner of the Legal Advisor Award
- I&M Burbidge Capital & EY, winner of the Financial Advisor Award
- AHL Venture Partners (Twiga Foods), winner of the Exit Award
- DOB Equity, winner of the Impact Investment Firm Award for its work with Mr Green Africa, Moringa School, CropNuts, Jibu, and NEI
- AfricInvest/Catalyst Principal Partners, winner of the Large Cap Deal Award for their work with Prime Bank
- Adenia Partners, winner of the Mid Cap Deal Award for their work with Quick Mart / Tumaini
- Chandaria Capital (Savannah Brands) & Creadev International, joint winners of the Small-Cap Deal Award for their work with Twiga Foods
The EAVCA is the representative organization for private equity and venture capital funds in East Africa, promoting the region as a private capital destination and ensuring a favorable environment for trade.
