Published on December 3, 2019, Mwananchi Credit has marked a significant milestone in its expansion plans by opening its sixth branch in the coastal town of Mombasa.

Located at the ground floor of Jubilee Arcade building along Moi Avenue, the Mombasa office aims to tap into the growing demand for quick credit in the region, particularly during the Christmas and end-year festive season.

According to Mwananchi Credit Executive Director Dennis Mombo, the decision to establish an independent branch in Mombasa was a deliberate move to cater to the needs of the local community.

"It had been an issue of consideration in the past few months, that an important commercial centre like Mombasa warrants an independent branch instead of just one department at the head office," Mr Mombo said.

He emphasized that Mwananchi Credit offers tailored financial solutions to meet the cashflow challenges faced by individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.

With the economy experiencing a rise in the cost of living and shrinking earnings, demand for quick credit has been growing, making it an opportune time for Mwananchi Credit to expand its services.

Mr Mombo revealed that apart from the Mombasa office, the company plans to open six more branch offices in various towns across the country within the next three months.

"We know the economy has not been well, but the best time to invest money into opening new branches is now," he said. "Our goal is to be the top-tier micro lender."

Mwananchi Credit Limited has been offering credit products for the past nine years, serving a range of clientele, including individuals with logbook, title deed, and civil servant loans. The company has won several awards for its services.
