ResQMed, a medical evacuation firm, has launched a revolutionary chopper rescue service in Kenya, offering cover starting from Sh500. The service, which was launched on December 1, 2019, aims to provide comprehensive medical evacuation services to individuals, corporate entities, and government institutions.
According to ResQMed Director Devansh Khanna, the firm's operations involve providing helicopters for medical evacuation services, including road, bridge, and highway coverage. This means that if you are involved in an accident on Lang'ata or Mombasa roads, you can be evacuated to a hospital by one of ResQMed's choppers.
The service is a first for Kenya, and it is available to anyone who purchases the cover, which starts from Sh500. This means that you can secure chopper rescue during emergencies for as little as Sh500.
ResQMed's cover benefits include point-to-point evacuation with a helicopter-based medivac, known as Heli-evacuation. The firm is also in talks with insurance firms to make this product part of their packages, with a deal already concluded with AON Minet Insurance for broking services.
ResQMed's target market includes individuals, corporate entities, government institutions, NGOs, and even holiday tourists. The service is designed to provide quick and efficient medical evacuation services during emergencies, and it is a welcome addition to Kenya's disaster management efforts.
