On November 27th, 2019, a report of murder was filed at Buruburu police station, vide occurrence book number 47/27/11/2019, after a man named Harrison Maina died from complications related to consuming a concoction prepared by John Kaskas Sungura, a Maasai man.
A post-mortem examination revealed that Maina died as a result of chemical poisoning.
Police officer investigating the case told the court that the four victims were rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital, where Maina died while undergoing treatment.
Following the arrest of Sungura on November 28th, 2019, the suspect was arraigned before Makadara court for miscellaneous application and was allowed to be detained for two weeks.
