On December 3, 2019, a 17-year-old boy was arrested in Naivasha's Mirera estate for allegedly stabbing a 16-year-old girl 26 times.
The victim, Valerie Njeri, was a Form Two student who went missing on Thursday from her parents' posho mill in Naivasha.
Her lifeless body was found dumped on a feeder road outside the accused's home on Friday.
Naivasha Chief Magistrate Kennedy Bidali granted the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) nine days to complete investigations, instead of the 14 days they had sought.
The minor will spend nine more days in police custody at Naivasha police station, where he will undergo a mental checkup.
Magistrate Bidali directed that a report on the minor's age and mental condition be availed in court on December 11.
