On December 3, 2019, a village in Singore Sub-location, Nandi County was left reeling after a teenage girl reportedly killed her newborn baby following a quarrel with her father.

According to police, Faith Jepkosgei, an 18-year-old Class 7 dropout, strangled her three-week-old son in her parents' house in Singore.

Witnesses claim that Faith had been experiencing constant quarrels with her father due to her pregnancy and early marriage.

The suspect was detained at Kabiyet Police Station pending arraignment, while the child's body was moved to Kimbilo Funeral Home.
