On Monday, residents of Fedha Estate in Nairobi staged a protest over the deplorable state of the Fedha–Nyayo Road, which has led to a surge in accidents, insecurity, and significant losses to business operators.
According to the residents, the dilapidated road has caused immense suffering, and they have called upon the county government of Nairobi, led by Governor Mike Sonko, and the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) to repair the roads, which are in a poor state with numerous potholes.
During the demonstrations, the residents lit tyres and bonfires, bringing transport along the busy Outering road to a standstill, causing a heavy traffic snarl-up and forcing commuters to use alternative roads.
