On December 2, 2019, Kenya's Under-16 national team made a remarkable comeback in the Copa Coca-Cola Under-16 Africa Cup at M-Pesa Foundation Academy in Thika.

After losing their opening match 3-1 to Zimbabwe, the team bounced back with a 3-0 victory against Mozambique in the preliminaries.

This achievement earned Kenya a spot in the quarter-finals alongside Zimbabwe, who also qualified from Pool A.

In the quarter-final matches, Zimbabwe will face Namibia, while Zambia will play against Angola.

Uganda will face Tanzania, and Botswana will take on Kenya in the other quarter-final matches.

South Africa was eliminated from the tournament, while Ethiopia and Burkina Faso withdrew from the event.

Kenya's redemption came in their second match against Mozambique, with Fredrick Onyango scoring three goals in the 2nd, 17th, and 22nd minutes.
