Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed confidence in his team's state of mind, despite a recent draw against Newcastle that left them 11 points adrift of Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Published on December 2, 2019, Guardiola emphasized that his players have not been affected by a poor run of just one victory in five games in all competitions.
"You have to see how the players run and how they fight and how they try to do it, the body language -- we never give up, so the team is always there, that's my feeling," he said.
Guardiola acknowledged that the game against Newcastle was a fair result, with his team playing well with the ball and conceding few counter-attacks.
"The game is what it is. In my opinion, it was good. We played well with the ball, we were solid, we conceded few counter-attacks, but football is how many goals you score and how you don't concede," he said.
Guardiola is now focused on the upcoming matches, including the Manchester derby on Saturday and a trip to Burnley on Tuesday.
