On Monday, December 2, 2019, a senior police officer, Chief Inspector Sabina Kerubo, was arraigned before Siaya principal magistrate, James Ong'ondo, in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old journalist, Eric Oloo.

According to reports, Kerubo, who is attached to Ugunja Police Station, was detained for 14 days to enable the police complete investigations.

This is the third suspect to be arraigned before the court over Oloo's murder. Two brothers, Victor Ogola Luta and Frankline Luta, were detained for 11 days last week.

It is alleged that Kerubo, together with two other suspects, attacked and killed Oloo on November 21, 2019, in Uhor village in Ugunja sub-county.

Elsewhere, Migori County Governor, Okoth Obado, will have to wait until December 18, 2019, for a ruling in the petition he filed seeking to have a lawyer representing murdered Rongo University student Sharon Otieno's family disqualified from the case.
