December 2, 2019 - Nairobi City Stars, the leaders of the National Super League, have extended their unbeaten run in the league after defeating 18th-placed St Joseph Youth 2-0 at the Hope Centre.

The team, which has a six-point lead at the top of the table, is the only unbeaten side in the league with 17 rounds of matches played so far.

Club director Samson Otieno expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, saying, 'The game was good since we managed to play better in the second half despite starting slowly.'

However, he emphasized that the team is not safe from relegation, citing the six-point gap between them and the second-placed team, Nairobi Stima.

With fixtures against Kibera Black Stars and Administration Police lined up before the season interval, Otieno says they aim to hit the 49-point mark to see off pressure from their closest rivals.

'At the moment our immediate focus is on winning our next two games against Kibera Black Stars and Administration Police then we will plan for the second leg next year,' he said.

The team's technical bench has been instrumental in their impressive second-half display, according to Otieno, who reserved special praise for them.

Up next for them is a league fixture against struggling Administration Police at Camp Toyoyo on Sunday.
