Published on December 2, 2019, Nairobi City Stars solidified their position at the top of the National Super League (NSL) standings after securing a 2-0 victory over St Joseph’s Youth on Sunday at Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi.
The win marked the team's 43rd point, leaving them unbeaten and six points clear of their closest rivals with only two matches remaining in the first leg.
David Amuyunzu and Anthony Kimani scored for the hosts in the 20th and 52nd minutes respectively, securing the win for City Stars.
Elsewhere in the league, Nairobi Stima edged Vihiga United 2-1 at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, while Bidco United registered a 3-2 win over APS Bomet at Thika Stadium.
Former Kenyan Premier League side Shabana returned home empty-handed after losing 3-1 to Mount Kenya United at Camp Toyoyo, while Coast Stima thrashed Kenya Police 7-0 away in Mombasa.
Administration Police played out a 1-1 draw with FC Talanta at Camp Toyoyo, while Migori Youth and Kibera Black Stars played to a 0-0 draw.
Other results from the weekend included Vihiga Bullets' 1-0 win over Fortune Sacco and Murang’a SEAL's 3-1 victory over Modern Coast Rangers.
