On December 2, 2019, Kenyan MP Mohammed Ali, also known as Moha Jicho Pevu, made headlines for giving police officers from his Nyali constituency KSh 100,000 as a Christmas gift.
According to Moha's Facebook post, he met some police officers from his area and decided to give them the money, along with some goats and soda as a Christmas present.
“The work of police is tough and demanding, I met some police officers from my area and I gave them KSh 100,000, some goats, and soda as a Christmas gift,” Moha wrote on Facebook.
However, not everyone was pleased with Moha's decision to publicly give the officers the gift, with some people questioning whether it was appropriate for an MP to do so.
