Benik Afobe Mourns Loss of 2-Year-Old Daughter Amora

Former Arsenal striker Benik Afobe is currently nursing a knee injury he sustained in September, but his family is dealing with a far more devastating loss.

On Friday, November 29, Afobe's two-year-old daughter Amora passed away after developing severe infections. Despite doctors doing everything they could, Amora's condition took a turn for the worse, and she passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Afobe released a statement on Sunday, December 1, saying, 'Amora was taken to hospital for treatment after unexpectedly developing a severe infection. Unfortunately, she then suffered a number of serious complications and, despite doctors doing absolutely everything that they could, Amora passed away peacefully with the love of her family by her side.'

The entire family has been left totally devastated and heartbroken, and they would like to ask that their privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult time.

Afobe's team, Bristol City, dedicated their 5-2 victory over Huddersfield Town in the Championship to the striker, and other Premier League stars also sent their condolences on social media.
