On December 1, 2019, a daring rescue mission was carried out by the Kenya Police Airwing to save a fisherman stuck at 14 Falls in Thika.

The fisherman, identified as Vincent Musila, had been stranded on a small island in the Athi River for four days after his canoe was swept away by the rising waters.

Thika Town Member of Parliament Patrick Wainaina reached out to the Kenya Police Airwing for help, and they responded promptly to rescue Musila.

According to reports, Musila had gone to lay his fishnets on a section of the river using his canoe, but as the night progressed, the river began to swell, and he was forced to seek refuge on a nearby island.

With the water levels continuing to rise, Musila was in dire need of rescue, and the Kenya Police Airwing answered the call.

Locals had attempted to save Musila but were unable to reach him, prompting them to seek alternative help.

On social media, Kenyans praised the Kenya Police Airwing for their bravery and quick response in rescuing Musila.

Users took to Twitter to express their gratitude and admiration for the crew's daring and risky maneuver, especially considering the risk of rotor downwash while hovering above water.
