Woman Murdered in Makueni Guest House

On Sunday, December 1, 2019, a gruesome discovery was made at Central Guest House in Wote town, Makueni County. The body of a woman, later identified as Joyce, was found lying in a pool of blood in room number 3.

According to the Makueni County Police Commander, Mr. Joseph Ole Naipeyan, Joyce had reported for her shift at 9 am and was supposed to take over from Dominic Mburu. However, when Mburu returned at 5 pm, he did not find her at the reception and instead discovered her lifeless body.

Speaking to the Kenya News Agency (KNA) on Monday, Mr. Naipeyan confirmed the incident and revealed that a kitchen knife was found below her head. He stated, 'The woman had reported for the day's shift at 9 am and took over from Mburu. However, when Mburu reported back at five, he did not find her at the reception. He searched for her and found her lying in a pool of blood, her throat was slit. A kitchen knife was found below her head.'

While no arrests have been made, the police are hunting for her killers. The body of the deceased was taken to the Makueni Referral hospital Mortuary for preservation awaiting postmortem.
