Published on December 2, 2019, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed satisfaction with the team's mental state despite a recent slump in form.

City drew 2-2 with Newcastle, slipping further behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, who are 11 points ahead with more than a third of the season gone.

Guardiola emphasized that his players have not been affected by their poor run of just one victory in five games in all competitions.

"You have to see how the players run and how they fight and how they try to do it, the body language -- we never give up, so the team is always there, that's my feeling," he said.

Guardiola also downplayed the significance of their current position, focusing on the next game against Burnley before the Manchester derby.

"I'm not thinking about how many games we have to win," he said. "It's just try to win the next one."
