Netflix, the popular streaming service, will stop working on several popular television sets and streaming devices from December 1, 2019. The change affects Samsung's 2010 and 2011 smart TVs, as well as seven older Roku streaming sticks.
According to Samsung, the company was recently notified by Netflix that the app would no longer be supported on selected 2010 and 2011 Smart TV models sold in Canada and the US. Samsung explained that consumers with these models can still access Netflix by connecting a supported device to their Smart TV.
Additionally, seven older Roku streaming sticks will also no longer be supported from this month. These include the Roku 2050X, Roku 2100X, Roku 2000C, Roku HD Player, Roku SD Player, Roku XR Player, and Roku XD Player.
Many users are expressing frustration over the change, which could force them to buy a new TV or streaming stick to continue watching Netflix. Some users have taken to social media to express their disappointment, with one user tweeting, 'That's pretty stupid and unfair. They will have to get a casting device now.'
December 1, 2019, marks the end of support for these devices, so users who are affected will need to act fast to find alternative ways to access Netflix.
