On December 1, 2019, the 28th Koroga Festival at the Bomas of Kenya turned into an unexpected scene when Sports and Culture Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed took the stage.
Despite being endorsed by the Sports, Culture and Heritage ministry, the crowd's reception was far from welcoming. They gesticulated for her to leave, creating an awkward atmosphere.
CS Amina Mohamed repeatedly asked the crowd if they were having fun before eventually walking off the stage.
The event, dubbed 'The World Groove Edition,' featured Rhumba icons M'bilia Bel and Kanda Bongoman, as well as local artists Steve Kay and Emma Jalamo.
Due to heavy downpours in Nairobi and across the country, the event was moved from the outdoor grounds to the auditorium at the Bomas of Kenya.
