On December 2, 2019, technology firm Ockam secured $4.9 million in seed funding, enabling the company to make it easier for developers to create more secure IoT apps.
The funding was provided by investors including Core Ventures, Okta Ventures, SGH Capital, and Future Ventures.
According to Ockam, the funding will be used to build more scalable connected and secure systems by implementing cryptographic keys and assigning credentials to different entities.
As reported by TechCrunch, Ockam raised its seed funding over two tranches, with a $3.2 million round closing in May and an additional $1.7 million injection from Future Ventures in recent weeks.
