Published on December 2, 2019, the Met Department has warned of heavy rains that will continue into Wednesday this week.

The affected areas include South and Central Rift, Nyanza, Southeast lowlands, Central regions, and Nairobi and its environs.

Residents in these areas are advised to be on the lookout for potential floods and avoid driving through or walking in moving water.

People in landslide-prone areas, especially over the slopes of the Aberdare ranges, Mount Kenya, and other hilly areas, have been put on high alert.

The heavy rainfall has led to overflow in most rivers, with the ground already saturated with water, increasing the risk of flooding and landslides in low-lying and hilly areas.
