On November 30, 2019, the Luo Festival in Kisumu hosted a performance by singer Akothee, which took a dramatic turn when she collapsed on stage.

Video footage shows Akothee engaging with the audience, dancing with her dancers, and singing her latest song Rollam before suddenly falling backward onto the stage.

Her front dancers appeared caught off guard, looking surprised as they turned to see Akothee on the ground.

According to sources close to the musician, Akothee was simply fatigued.

Just a week prior, Akothee had been hospitalized in Karen and had assured her fans through her Instagram page that she was in stable condition.

She had posted, 'This life, you can only occupy one bed at a time, bloggers don’t scare my family and fans, I am not dead! My system just shut down, I will be back.'

It's worth noting that Akothee had previously cancelled her performances at the One Africa Music Festival in New York in 2018 due to 'energy burning out', according to her manager.
