On December 2, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Singore Sub-location, where an 18-year-old girl allegedly strangled her three weeks old baby boy to death.
According to the police, the suspect, Faith Jepkosgei, claimed that she killed her son in her parent's house after her father scolded her.
It is alleged that Faith's father had been taunting her since she gave birth before marriage, which led to the tragic incident.
Elsewhere in Shieywe village Soy, Kakamega County, a man named Peter Katiba hanged himself inside his girlfriend's homestead on suspicion that she had dumped him.
The deceased had been in a relationship with the girl and they had promised to marry each other, but the girl left home with her mother to attend a relative's funeral without informing Katiba.
The child's body was moved to Kimbilo Funeral Home, while Katiba's body was found hanging in the homestead.
